Orienteering Louisville, along with holding events in larger parks also holds short/easy courses designed for both experts and beginners. These are Family Friendly events but also can be quite competitive. Either way, OLOU is all about helping people read our maps and getting adults and children outdoors and off of mobile devices. We have a Winter GoGo series which takes place on Sunday Afternoon and we also have the longer Summer Season GoGo Series which is on Tuesday evenings.
The GoGo Winter Series consists of 8 weeks of Short Park Runs (or walk if you want) through the Parks in and around the Louisville Metro area capped off by a larger scale fun final event. There are 2 courses at each event, one designed for beginners or children and the other for more of a challenge. We supply the map and beginners instruction and since these courses are short and easy, beginners and children catch on very fast. Most people opt for doing both courses as long as there is enough time.
All of our Winter GoGo Events start at 2pm on Sunday with the last person going out at 3:15pm. We pick up the Control Points at 3:30. Click on the Park link below for the location and watch for directional signs as you enter the Park. If you have any questions, contact the meet director.
